2010 is off to a great start as the Motonica team scores good results at round 1 of the Novarossi Cup. Bryon Nakahara TQ'ed and nearly won the Sportsman class. Garen Hagobian qualified directly into the Expert A Main and placed 4th in a very tough field. Props go out to Don Cesar for qualifying in the B and placing in the top 14 overall. The P81 is working great and these results are indicative of the quality and ability of the car.
Motonica USA would like to thank all our loyal racers who have chosen the P81 for 2010. Together this will be our best year
so far.

P81 scores another A Main finish, this time at Crystal Park Raceway at the Kamikaze Invitational race, May 16-17th, 2009. This race was originally scheduled earlier this year, but moved twice due to unforeseen circumstances. The date change worked out well for me as I could not make the original race date and from what I could tell, the overall level of competition was much improved with more fast drivers in attendance. We had a total of 3 Motonica cars at this race, two P8.0R 08 cars and one P81. Click here for full report.

The first time out with the new P81, Garen Hagobian places 2nd at the 2nd Annual Motonica Grand Prix in Las Vegas Nevada. Along the way Garen tied for the 2nd fastest lap of the weekend and showed the great potential of the new car. Early in the 60 minute final a flameout set him back 2 laps and very late in the race a broken 2nd spur gear prevented him from challenging for the lead. Still this is a great result. Race report here, full results and photos can be found here.

  5-14-08 Spring Race Summary:

It's been a busy Spring for the Motonica Team.  Starting with the Winternats, Josh Cyrul qualified 10th first time out with his new Motonica P8.OR 2008 kit. Unofficially, Josh set the second fastest qualifying time of the week, but his run DQ'ed for being underweight. His car was teched earlier and was declared over the minimum weight, but after the run his car was deemed too light. In the B Final, Josh was in bump up position when he ran into engine tuning issues followed by a couple of mistakes on the track costing him a chance to bump into the A Final. Still we are pleased with the 10th place qualifying result.

Next up was the Speedline GP in Texas. Scotty Barrera qualified and placed 2nd overall after a long battle with Scott Kimbrow. Scotty led during the main and was battling until the end when his motor went rich and he had to settle for second. Brad Toffelmire also made the A Main but had to retire early.

In mid April, we all headed to sunny Las Vegas for the Motonica GP. Scotty Barrera TQ'ed, followed by Josh Cyrul in 2nd, and 3 more Motonica cars (Garen Hagobian, Brad Toffelmire, Arno Mardirossian) in the top 10. The 60 minute A Main started out with Scotty in the lead, Josh in 2nd, and Garen in 3rd, until about midway when Scotty developed clutch problems. Josh led the rest of the way, Garen finished 2nd and Thello Jurdon third.  As far as we know, this is the first major victory for Motonica in the US. Click here for a full race report and here for photos.

Also in April, we headed to San Jose for the RAMS 40th Anniversary event. In a field of nearly 90 drivers, Josh put his P8.OR.08 in the second starting position, with Garen further down the field in the C Main. Garen won the C, despite nearly losing the front left suspension at the very end of the race, and in the B was up to 4th position when it was learned his transponder had quit counting. In the A final, Josh got the hole shot into the first corner, but got spun out and possibly damages his car in the ensuing wreck. We had a few unscheduled pit stops, but at the end of the race, Josh managed to scrape back up to 4th place, a respectable finish all things considered.

2-8-2008 As posted on Motonica.com, top Italian driver Stefano Solaroli has joined the Motonica Team, and will be performing R&D, with the aim of increasing the performance of future models.

It is also our pleasure to announce that top US driver, former IFMAR World’s TQ, and multiple national and international race winner, Josh Cyrul is on board with Motonica for the upcoming race season.

Cyrul brings with him many years of racing knowledge and engineering experience. He is one of the most recognized names in all of RC, and we look forward to achieving good results with him. His debut with the Motonica P8.0R 08 will be at the upcoming Winternats held in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Joining Josh will be sedan racing ace Ron Atomic, an accomplished racer himself. We are also proud to have Scotty Barrera on our team, one of the best 1/8th on road drivers in the US, and a fixture in the A Main at races all over the US for the past decade.
